Because of the mild temperatures of the last few days, Mosaïvernales is forced to close the exhibit. The site is now closed permenantly.​

Considering the amount of rain of the last few days, and the weather forecasted between now and the beginning of March, Mosaïvernales must close the exhibit.

Despite the goodwill and the perseverance of the operations team and the artists, the weather will simply not allow the maintenance and upkeep of the snow sculptures.

We wish to thank our partners, Tourisme Québec, the City of Gatineau, the National Capital Commission and Outauouais Tourism, as well as the Master-Sculptors and the hundreds of volunteers who all contributed to bringing this winter event to the region.


Number of visitors: 20,000 visitors

Number of days the exhibit was open: 20 days

Number of days it was expected to be open: 38 days (January 26th to March 4th)

Busiest days:

  • Saturday February 17th: more than 1,650 visitors
  • Saturday February 10th and Sunday February 19th: more than 1,500 visitors for each day

Number of hours of work (operations + sculptors) :

Before the opening January 26th : more than 6,000 hours

During the exhibit : more than 4,000 hours

Number of volunteers : 125


SEGMA SURVEY (on-site, during the event – preliminary results) :

  • 94.5% of visitors surveyed were satisfied with their visit to Mosaivernales
  • 97% of visitors surveyed enjoyed the site of the event (Jacques-Cartier Park south)
